Formula 1 | Mercedes F1 stopped for a test at Paul Ricard

Like Ferrari, Mercedes F1 used the second of its two allowed filming days for the 2022 season by running the W13 at Paul Ricard yesterday Wednesday.

A photo of George Russell in action at the French Grand Prix site has been shared on Mercedes social media.

The Paul Ricard was a convenient stopover for the team on their way to Barcelona, while offering similar air and track temperatures.

Mercedes are expected to bring more changes to the Spanish Grand Prix, having tested several new parts and configurations last time out in Miami.

In accordance with F1 regulations, Mercedes was limited to 100 kilometers of running – the equivalent of 17 laps of the Paul Ricard track in GP configuration – on demonstration tires specially supplied by Pirelli.

The main purpose of a shoot day is to capture content for team partners and the media, but they are often used as dedicated shakedown sessions for new cars or new parts. There is no doubt that the W13 was perhaps already equipped with some new features to be validated.
