Big Ferrari change for the home race!

Fresh look for the Scuderia!

At the home race in Monza at the weekend, Ferrari will be appearing in an unfamiliar color: yellow. The reason for this is the 100th anniversary on the legendary race track in Italy.

The iconic red Ferrari gets a touch of yellow livery on many parts of the car, including the rear wing, behind the airbox and the halo. The drivers will line up in all yellow, have yellow team shirts and yellow racing overalls.

Unusual sight for Ferrari, who actually stand so much for the color red!

Color choice background: When Enzo founded Ferrari, he chose yellow as the iconic color for his brand – because it is one of the colors of the coat of arms of the mother city of Modena, Italy. Ferrari’s logo is still yellow to this day, even though the brand is so synonymous with red.

Even if it is unusual – the yellow is not completely new: in 1961 the Belgian Olivier Gendebien (†1998) competed in yellow at Spa. It’s a national color of Belgium. Gendebien finished fourth in the yellow Ferrari.

In the decades that followed, yellow accents might be seen once more and once more on the Ferrari team. In 2000, for example, Schumi had a lot of yellow on the back of his helmet. At Ferrari’s 1000th race in September 2020 in Mugello, Ferrari competed in a dark red heritage livery – and with dark red racing suits that featured striking yellow accents.
