French Alpha Toure driver Pierre Gasly will move to the Alpine team, where he will replace the Spaniard Fernando Alonso, who will move to the Aston Martin team, starting next year, according to what was announced on Saturday at the Suzuka circuit, which will host tomorrow. Gasly, 26, crowned his career so far with one race in Formula 1, when he won with Alfa Touri (formerly Toro Rosso) the Italian Grand Prix in 2019.

The Frenchman has been on the podium twice, when he finished second in the Brazilian Grand Prix in 2019 and when he finished third in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last year.
It was also announced today that Dutchman Nick de Vries will replace Gasly at Alpha Toure.
