Ferrari boss facing eviction

Whirling around the chief post at Ferrari!

According to media reports from the Italian “Gazzetta”, Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto (53) is regarding to end. However, the Scuderia denies this.

Ferrari said on Tuesday followingnoon: “Regarding speculation in certain media regarding the position of Mattia Binotto, Scuderia Ferrari team boss, Ferrari informs that these rumors are completely unfounded.”

The Italians had reported that the dismissal and the change at the top should take place in January. According to “Gazzetta”, Fred Vasseur (54), currently team boss at Alfa Romeo Sauber, is to become Binotto’s successor.

This would fit: Audi will join Sauber in 2026. This will entail some major structural changes in the team. In addition, Vasseur knows Ferrari driver and World Cup hope Charles Leclerc (24) well from their common Sauber times.

But Ferrari deny the upcoming separation from Binotto.

But it was noticeable that Mattia Binotto was not on the track at the race in São Paulo/Brazil on the Interlagos route. Not entirely unusual, however, given the tightly scheduled racing calendar: Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff (50) was not in Brazil either. But the Italian was also absent from many previous Grands Prix.

One thing is clear: Ferrari’s hopes for the current season were greater than the result. The Reds dominated in the first races and fought a close battle with Red Bull for the World Championship. The engine is still the strongest in the field.

But the mistakes were simply too numerous to seriously get involved in the title fight in the long term. Again and once more there were engine reliability problems, bad strategy and pit stops and mistakes made by the drivers on the track.

After all, Max Verstappen (25) was by far the driver’s world champion in Japan and Red Bull the constructor’s world champion in Austin/USA. Ferrari even had to tremble for second place in the drivers’ standings in the last race: Leclerc and Red Bull’s Sergio Pérez (32) go into the last race with the same points.

Will Binotto show himself back on the track at the finale in Abu Dhabi on Sunday (2 p.m. / Sky)?
