Formula 1 Fans Upset as Belgian Grand Prix Takes Over Children’s TV Schedule on RTBF

The sport is jostling on the RTBF this Saturday, enough to disrupt the habits of Formula 1 fans… but also of children!

Qualifying for the Belgian GP sprint race started more than 30 minutes late due to rain. On La Une, Gaëtan Vigneron had been on the air since 12 noon, the initial start time of the event. Except here it is: with this delay, Formula 1 was bound to come into conflict with the 1 p.m. news. Thus, at 12.46 p.m., F1 left La Une to head for… La Trois!

A surprising choice since the sports channel is Tipik. But at the same time, France and Brazil clashed at the Women’s World Cup broadcast on the 2nd channel of the RTBF group. Public television was therefore obliged to relegate the Belgian GP to La Trois and to interrupt the children’s cartoons usually programmed at this time.

All these upheavals have in any case reacted on social networks, F1 fans having already experienced a disturbed qualifying Friday. This time, it was on the Auvio platform that the problems had arisen with an early end of program.
