Red Bull sends a strong signal, McLaren in trouble

The last day of F1 2023 winter testing ended in Bahrain with Sergio Pérez’s best time of 1’30.305. The Mexican covered 130 laps. did a 1’30″664 on C5 tyres.

Valtteri Bottas is third with 128 laps completed, ahead of Charles Leclerc who was driving this morning. Carlos Sainz is right behind, and Yuki Tsunoda follows. Kevin Magnussen, George Russell, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Drugovich complete the top 10 of the day.

Magnussen completed 95 laps, the highest total for a driver having been present for half a day. Haas F1 is also the team to have driven the most today with 172 laps.

Conversely, McLaren only completed 79 laps, and the team is sending a very worrying signal. At Alpine, the total of 131 laps was done with only groundwork on hard and medium tyres. The team therefore did not reveal any cards before the start of the season!
