Formosa received 120 million pesos to complete the nuclear medicine and radiotherapy center

This Friday, the National Ministry of Health allocated nearly 120 million pesos to Formosa Province. This funding will finalize supplementary construction on the Dr. Néstor Kirchner Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Center Project.

Resolution 2021-4096 formalized the approval. The decision followed a conference between Health Minister Carla Vizzotti and the provincial governor, Gildo Insfrán, concluding negotiations on the funding initially requested during the minister’s visit to Formosa.

This precise sum of 119,786,966.77 pesos aligns with the Pan American Health Organization’s strategic guidelines. These guidelines advocate for hospitals as key players in transforming health systems towards universal healthcare access within integrated service networks.

A Ministry of Health press release declared that the completed Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Center will possess the advanced technology and infrastructure required for diagnosing, preventing, and treating various illnesses, including cancer, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.

“The Center’s completion, thanks to this grant, will directly benefit the local population’s health, particularly patients with specific ailments who will now receive treatments and diagnoses within their province“, concluded the ministry’s statement.
