Formnext 2024 is off to a flying start so far. At the end of February, the counter already stood at 574 companies from 35 countries that registered as exhibitors in Frankfurt. That’s more than this time last year.

Take on challenges

“The fantastic registration figures for Formnext reflect the relevance of Additive Manufacturing for the entire industrial sector,” says Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President for Formnext at event organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt. “AM is a technology that makes it possible to meet current challenges and exploit new economic potential.” With the current registration figures, Formnext 2024 exceeds last year’s excellent figures. Of the exhibitors registered so far, 64 percent come from abroad. In addition to Germany, the United States, China, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain are the main exhibitor countries.

Traditional industry discovers the growth opportunities of AM

AM value chain continues to expand

One of the trends that the Formnext team sees in the registrations is that the entire AM value chain is increasingly better represented at the fair. In addition, more companies from traditional industry sectors are turning to Formnext because they see additive manufacturing as an attractive sales market and want to benefit from the growth figures, which are approaching double digits. The majority of the new exhibitors, from a total of 25 countries, are located in traditional sectors and offer industrial and software solutions as well as measurement technology, automation and engineering solutions. However, specialized AM products such as innovative 3D printers and materials will also be represented.

Industrialization

In addition, says Rainer Lotz, President EMEA at Renishaw and Chairman of Formnext’s Exhibitor Advisory Board, Formnext increasingly reflects the industrialization of additive manufacturing. This is reflected, among other things, in exhibitors at Formnext 2024 such as Bechtle AG, PLC and Schaeffler Special Machinery.

Multimateriaalprinter

The latter company will present the new multi-material 3D printer for industrial production in Frankfurt this autumn. The machine manufacturer of the Schaeffler Group will use examples to demonstrate the versatile application options for industries such as medical technology or e-mobility. With its debut appearance at Formnext, the Motion Technology Company aims to profile itself in the long term as a reliable technology partner in the growing market for Additive Manufacturing.

Formnext 2024 will take place at Messe Frankfurt from November 19-24
