[Reporter Lin Yuefu/Taipei Report]PLG Taoyuan Puyuan Pilot announced today that it has strengthened its coaching staff. Former women’s basketball national player Ma Yihong will become a member of the coaching staff in the new season.
Ma Yihong used to be a WSBL (Women’s Super Basketball League) Chunghwa Telecom and Taiwan Yuan women’s basketball player, and was one of the main players of the national team. She also moved west to join the Heilongjiang Women’s Basketball Team in the WCBA (China Women’s Basketball League).
After retiring in 2015, Ma Yihong served as an assistant coach for the National Sports University men’s basketball team. In recent years, he served as an assistant coach for the T1 Taiwan Steel Falcons. Last season, Falcons coach Liu Mengzhu led UBA to visit HKUST. Ma Yihong personally served as the acting head coach. , is also the first female coach in Taiwan to be in charge of the on-the-spot military in a professional basketball game, setting a historical record.
