“The search is part of an ongoing investigation led by the public prosecutor’s office,” explains Lisa De Wilde, spokesperson for the East Flanders public prosecutor’s office.

At present, we do not know the precise reasons for this search in the house in Hautem-Saint-Liévin. All we know is that B. has the nickname “Baby Hitler” because of his clothing style, which closely resembles that of the Nazi dictator.

B. was also a member of the office of the local section of Vlaams Belang, before recently leaving to continue his studies. His membership was even discussed at the highest level of the party. However, the local president, Dominique Verdonck, claims to have never noticed any far-right or Nazi sympathies. “If that were the case, we would have immediately excluded it,” he explained to our colleagues at HLN. “This fall, we still had a little discussion with him because of his appearance.”

According to HLN, B. does not understand this search. “Okay, I have a bad reputation, but I want to point out that I didn’t hurt anyone.”
