A source from Luong Van Can High School (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) said that Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thuy – former Vice Principal of Luong Van Can High School was transferred by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training to become an Inspector of the Department.
This is a decision made following a period of controversy regarding the effect of The head of this school, Mr. Nguyen Tan Si, dismissed a series of group leaders, professional deputy leaders and the secretary of the school board for not voting for Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thuy.

As noted by Dan Viet, the website of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has updated information regarding expert Tran Thi Thu Thuy. Accordingly, Ms. Thuy will be in charge of inspecting, processing applications, receiving citizens, handling applications, and handling complaints and denunciations with public high schools in Districts 5.11, Hoc Mon and Binh Chanh.
Besides, Ms. Thuy also helps responsible for inspecting, examining, receiving citizens, handling applications and settling complaints and denunciations for non-public high schools in the following districts: District 8, District 12, Phu Nhuan District, Hoc Mon province.
In addition, Ms. Thuy will be in charge of inspecting, examining, receiving citizens, handling applications and settling complaints and denunciations for Foreign Language – Informatics centers; Teaching more learning more; Study abroad consulting; Life skills in District 8, Binh Thanh District, Cu Chi District.
According to the representative of the Department of Education and Training, Ms. Thuy moved to the Department to work as a seconded. Before taking the exam through the entrance exam for Ms. Thuy, in the immediate future, Luong Van Can High School still has to pay Ms. Thuy’s salary.
Previously, Luong Van Can High School held a vote of confidence to re-appoint the position of Vice Principal Head for Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thuy on October 18, 2022. The School Joint Council had 25 people to vote, however, the number of votes did not meet the regulations. Many teachers believe that, during her work, Ms. Thuy made mistakes, so she was not trusted.
Because of this, at various meetings at the school, Mr. Nguyen Tan Si said that the teachers who did not vote for Ms. Thuy were the ones who caused disunity and had no opinion. At the meeting to announce the decision of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training on not re-appointing Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thuy, Mr. Si also dismissed 9 teachers as the group leader, professional deputy group leader and council secretary.
Right following that, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training asked the school to withdraw the above decision because of the wrong format and grounds. Mr. Nguyen Tan Si was also assigned to be the Principal Head of Nguyen Van Linh High School since February 20.
