A former Universal Orlando Resort theme park employee was convicted this month of attempting to meet a minor for sexual purposes, according to the Justice Department.
Dennis Lee Line is a 51-year-old resident of Winter Springs, Florida.
A jury found Line guilty on one count of attempting to coerce or induce a minor to engage in sexual activity, the DOJ said in a statement dated Aug. 11.
Authorities said Line began exchanging messages with an undercover officer he believed to be a 15-year-old girl in February.
The couple then exchanged text messages in which Line offered to teach the girl regarding sex by giving her oral sex.
Feds said Line tried to meet the girl following she left her shift at Universal Orlando. He was arrested as soon as he arrived at the scene.
An affidavit of arrest showed Line used the online alias “Stephen” and allegedly told the undercover officer he was “absolutely okay” with their age difference, Click Orlando reported.
Line told the sleuth “I can teach you some stuff” during their interaction and said they should “definitely meet up tonight,” the outlet previously reported.
The Post has reached out to representatives for Universal Orlando to comment on the situation.
Line faces between 10 years and life in federal prison. He is expected to be sentenced on November 2.
Before working at the theme park, Line was a teacher at Oviedo High School in Florida for 18 years, according to the DOJ. He left this position in 2019.
