China’s former “top star” Wu Yifan was arrested in 2021 on suspicion of sexual assault and was sentenced to 13 years in prison in the first instance. Recently, some mainland netizens discovered that his company was ordered to pay more than NT$18.96 million (approximately NT$85 million); a YouTuber also revealed that Kris Wu treated the detention center as his own home and asked inmates very nonsensical questions.
Netizens found through the Qichacha App that Inner Mongolia Fanshi Film and Television Media Co., Ltd., Inner Mongolia Chaoting Culture Media Co., Ltd., and Beijing Fanshi Culture Media Co., Ltd. (Wu Yifan’s agency) related to Wu Yifan were recently attacked by the second agency in Zhongshan City, Guangdong. The people’s court enforced more than 18.96 million yuan.
Since Vantage Co., Ltd., which Kris Wu represents, had filed a lawsuit against him, netizens speculated that this enforcement action might be a successful claim from the manufacturer. Another YouTuber “Lao Wang” revealed that Wu Yifan was not only seen crying by inmates, but also asked others “where is the hot water” while taking a shower, and was laughed at for treating the detention center as his home.
