New information from the Swedish website The Express realize that the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the European country, Ann Lindeis now part of the Apple advisory board. According to the vehicle, Linde will help the Cupertino giant with analysis of international issues.
The former minister was in charge of Swedish diplomacy between 2019 and 2022, when she was responsible for the dialogue between Sweden and the United States. Recently, Linde even cooperated with US Secretary Antony J. Blinken on issues surrounding the war in Ukraine.
As Swedish law requires former government officials to report to authorities any jobs they take following leaving office, Linde’s admission to Apple was quickly made public.
Although the former minister says “there is no conflict of interest” with her new job, Karensnamnden – the body responsible for analyzing her hiring – made it clear that she will probably have to face some restrictions. It is worth noting that Linde was also Minister for European Union Affairs.
Restriction means a ban on using and/or transmitting information regarding individual cases, processes and issues that Ann Linde has acquired as a Minister and which is not available to a wider circle of people.
It is not yet clear if the former minister will have to move to the United States or if her new position is full-time. Apple has yet to comment on the news.
