NBC News confirmed Wednesday, according to sources familiar, that former President Donald Trump will turn himself in at a Fulton County jail in Georgia on Thursday night.

The former president said Monday that he would turn himself in on Thursday in Fulton County, Georgia, after being indicted on numerous charges stemming from his efforts to stay in office in the wake of the 2020 election.

“Can you believe it? I’m going to Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a radical left-wing District Attorney, Fani Willis,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who launched the investigation into Trump and his allies, has given the defendants until noon Friday to turn themselves in voluntarily.

Three top law enforcement officials told NBC News on Friday that they expected Trump’s rendition to happen later this week.

In a news release Monday, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office said that when it is delivered “there will be a strict lockdown of the area surrounding the Rice Street Jail.”

THE $200,000 BOND

Trump’s team has agreed to a $200,000 bond in the Georgia criminal case. Under the terms of the “consent bail order” filed in court Monday afternoon, Trump agreed to the bail amount on charges including extortion, criminal conspiracy, criminal solicitation, production of false documents and false statements.

The order was signed by Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee. McAfee signed a similar agreement Monday involving another defendant in the case, Scott Hall. Hall is charged with extortion and six counts of criminal conspiracy related to a scheme to access voting machines and data in rural Coffee County. Bail for him was set at $10,000, court records show.
