British police have opened an investigation into “alleged assault” following former Premier League stars Micah Richards and Roy Keane were involved in an altercation with a fan during the Arsenal-Manchester United match on Sunday.

“Police are investigating following an assault that allegedly took place at the Emirates Stadium, during Arsenal’s match once morest Manchester United on Sunday 3 September,” the statement read.
A Sky Sports spokesperson told the British Mirror: “We understand that the police are investigating an alleged assault by a member of the public immediately prior to the footage being shared on social media platforms.”
He continued, “In the footage seen, Micah Richards was acting to defuse the situation.”
