Vote today on the no-confidence motion
The Imran Khan government needs the support of 172 members to survive the no-confidence motion in the 342-member National Assembly. The PTI has 155 members. There are opponents of Imran in the PTI itself. The rumor is strong that some of them will deviate. Imran’s position deteriorated as the seven – member Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQMP), the four – member Balochistan Awami Party and the one – member PML-Q withdrew support for the government.
The opposition claims to have the support of 175 members in the National Assembly. Meanwhile, Imran called on the people to take to the streets and protest peacefully during the no-confidence motion vote. He reiterated that the opposition was conspiring with foreign powers to oust him.
Imran urged all of you to protest for an independent Pakistan. Earlier, Imran had accused the opposition of conspiring with the United States to oust him. Not a single Prime Minister in Pakistan has completed his term. Imran Khan is the third Prime Minister to face a no-confidence motion.
