After a tumultuous 2023 season with Ohio Statequarterback Kyle McCord has reportedly found his next home in the transfer portal.
McCord is set to commit to Syracuseaccording to a Saturday night report from Brent Axe of The Post-Standard and Syracuse.com. Per Axe, McCord might formally announce his decision as soon as Sunday.
The Orange, who went 6–6 in 2023, are rebuilding under new coach Fran Brown. Syracuse will close its season on Thursday in the Boca Raton Bowl once morest South Florida.
McCord threw for 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns once morest six interceptions in his sole season as the Buckeyes’ full-time starter. He led Ohio State to an 11–0 start, but the Buckeyes lost 30–24 to Michigan in their regular-season finale.

A native of Philadelphia, McCord received an offer from the Orange out of high school. He has deep Eastern football roots; McCord’s father, Derek, saw time at quarterback for Rutgers in 1990 and ’91.
Syracuse is scheduled to open its 2024 season on Aug. 31 once morest Ohio.
