(New York) The former mayor of New York and lawyer for Donald Trump Rudy Giuliani is the target of a river lawsuit from a former collaborator who accuses him of having repeatedly harassed and sexually assaulted her while he worked for the former US president.
According to this 70-page complaint, Rudy Giuliani would have multiplied inappropriate comments and “sexual requests” throughout the period when this collaborator, Noelle Dunphy, worked for him from January 2019 to January 2021.
The complaint, filed Monday in New York, does not mention the terms of rape, but describes a scene where he would have forced his collaborator to perform oral sex, during an alcoholic party, in his apartment in the Upper district. East Side in Manhattan.
The complainant claims to have kept audio recordings showing that her ex-boss was harassing her.
According to her, Rudy Giuliani drank a lot of alcohol and openly took viagra.
She also adds that he demanded sexual favors “while taking phone calls on speakerphone from high-profile friends and clients, including President Trump.”
Giuliani “vehemently denies”
According to New York Daily News, one of the former New York mayor’s representatives says he “vehemently and completely denies the allegations contained in the complaint and intends to vigorously defend himself once morest these allegations”. “This is pure harassment and an attempt at extortion,” adds this unnamed representative.
Mayor of New York from 1994 to 2001, Rudy Giuliani had become very popular for his management of the attacks of September 11, until being called “mayor of America”, which had given him presidential ambitions. He had failed in the 2008 Republican primary. In 2016, he had supported Donald Trump, of whom he had become an adviser. He distinguished himself in the 2020 presidential election as one of the strongest voices denouncing, without proof, a “rigged” election.
Noelle Dunphy, who is suing Rudy Giuliani, 78, also for uncollected remuneration, is claiming ten million dollars in damages.
In January, when Mme Dunphy had launched a first legal action, one of Mr. Giuliani’s lawyers, Robert Costello, had assured that the complainant had “never worked for an entity” linked to her client and that she had not been able to find a lawyer because his requests were too outlandish.
According to the complaint, Noelle Dunphy is represented by attorneys.
