The former Mega cameraman was happy when he found out that José Miguel Viñuela must pay him a million-dollar compensation for cutting his hair on screen, in July 2020.
Three years following the controversial episode that cost Viñuela the hit, a Civil Court sentenced the driver to pay compensation of $17 million to the person affected, for moral damages.
The lawyer Roberto Ávila, representative of José Miranda, assured The latest news that his defendant reacted happily, “because he lives in a country where dignity is respected.”
José Miguel Viñuela today is the face of the TV+ channel, with his program “Tal Cual”.
Viñuela will have the option to pay in installments
The lawyer accused Viñuela of “humiliating” the professional “from power and arrogance.” He also referred to how the current face of TV+ might pay the money.
“This sentence does justice. We waited years, but in Chile there is a Judiciary that does not leave a worker who is humiliated by power and arrogance helpless. It is an act of justice that the law will not forget and humble Chileans are grateful for”, he commented.
Asked if Viñuela might pay the 17 million in parts, Ávila explained: “He must pay everything, but if he wants installments, he must have them. Ours is not money, the sentence is important. Now if he does not pay, there is an embargo ”.
