“As a recipient of bribes, it is of course believed that Wahyu Setiawan knows everything related to the money he received and the legal facts about the process of receiving the money and who was involved,” Yudi said.
Originally scheduled for questioning on January 2nd, Wahyu Setiawan has requested a delay until January 6th. KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika attributed the postponement to prior commitments, expressing confidence that he will provide accurate data upon his appearance.
Hasto Kristiyanto officially Named Suspect
Meanwhile, the KPK has formally declared Hasto Kristiyanto a suspect in two related cases. The first involves the alleged bribery aimed at securing Harun Masiku’s parliamentary seat, while the second pertains to obstruction of the ongoing investigation. KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto revealed that Hasto Kristiyanto attempted to have Harun Masiku appointed as a member of Parliament through a parliamentary seat replacement (PAW) process, allegedly going so far as seeking a relevant ruling from the Supreme Court.
“Even Riezky’s inauguration invitation letter was detained by HK (Hasto Kristiyanto),” Setyo Budiyanto stated, referring to Riezky Aprilia, the candidate initially slated for the parliamentary seat that Harun Masiku ultimately secured.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, Hasto Kristiyanto is accused of obstructing the KPK investigation into the bribery allegations.
Prosecutors allege he instructed both himself and Harun Masiku to dispose of their cell phones and directed Harun Masiku to flee, effectively hindering the investigation process. Currently, Harun Masiku remains at large as a fugitive.
