THE selection committee (pansel) for leadership candidates (capim) and the Supervisory Board (Dewas) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) are asked to be observant and not pass problematic candidates. The selection committee is asked to carefully examine the track records of the applicants.

“The selection committee certainly has access to track record information related to the names of people who registered. Don’t gamble by still passing problematic people in the administrative selection,” said former KPK investigator Yudi Purnomo Harahap in a written statement, Monday (15/7).

The selection committee will close registration today. The KPK Capim and Dewas candidates who pass the administration will be announced soon.

Yudi also warned the selection committee not to repeat similar mistakes such as selecting leaders during the Firli Bahuri era, which was considered to have caused many problems.

“So that when the announcement is made of the candidates for the KPK leadership and Supervisory Board who passed the administrative selection, it is hoped that there will be no names of people who are problematic and rejected by the public,” said Yudi.

He stressed that the performance of the selection committee is monitored by the public. The track record of the figures who passed will also be sought out by the public themselves.

“Because this is a stepping stone for the next stage. Any reason to pass problematic candidates will not be accepted by public logic,” said Yudi.

Registration for KPK leadership and supervisory board candidates is open until July 15, 2024. This selection will be carried out following the end of the term of office of the KPK leadership and supervisory board on December 20, 2024.

The number of Capim registrants has reached 210 people and Dewas 142 people. This data was recorded as of Monday, July 15, 2024, at 06.50 WIB. (P-5)
