Former members of the band Kotak, Posan Tobing and Julia Angelia Lepar or Pare have filed subpoenas. They forbade Kotak from performing songs composed by Posan and Pare.
If this is violated by Tantri, Chua and Cella, then Posan will not hesitate to bring this matter to the realm of law.
“If Marcela, Tantri, Chua and the management of the box we have directed do not obey and heed our open summons or a strong warning. We are not playing games anymore, we will take legal action,” said Posan and Pare lawyer, Jerys Napitupulu recently -recently.
The legal steps being prepared by the two of them are criminal matters related to copyright infringement.
“There are two things that we want to take, the first is to make an official report regarding alleged criminal offenses in the Law No. 28 of 2014 to the police,” he said.
Then, civil law steps will also be taken.
“Second, civil lawsuits regarding alleged violations of the rule of law and or violations of copyright and intellectual property rights as we have described above,” he said once more.
In one of the points, they banned Kotak from commercially performing his second song for economic value. Furthermore, the two of them urged promoters, TV, and others to be more vigilant regarding these songs.
“Warning openly and loudly to Cella, Tantri and Chua not to perform and sing songs anywhere and anytime to gain economic value on TV, social media, online, concerts both in Indonesia and abroad. We forbid them to perform, ” he added.
Apart from that, Posan and Pare opened up if Kotak wanted to perform songs composed by his former personnel. However, provided that there is an agreement regarding economic value.
“We are also open if related parties who want them to perform and sing songs created by our clients, please confirm in advance with our clients to determine joint economic value. So, we sit together first,” he concluded.
The songs Posan Tobing composed when he was a member of Kotak, which Cella, Chua, and Tantri banned from singing, are Different, Love Don’t Go, Relatives of Kotak, I Want to Be Alone.
For songs created by Julia Angelina, former vocalist of Kotak, those that are prohibited from being performed are Alone, When I’m Away, Flying, Phobias, One Love, About Life, Allow Me, Get Hurt.
Then, the songs by the band Kotak, which were co-written, one of which is Posan Tobing, are the song Still Love (composed by Pay Burman, Dewiq, Posan, Cella, and Tantri), Blank Teojoeh (composed by Pay Burman, DewiQ, Posan, Cella ), Just Leave It (by Pay Burman, DewiQ, Posan, Cella), Slow Only (by Pay Burman, DewiQ, Tantri, Cella, and Chua), and Always Love (by Pay Burman, DewiQ, Posan, Cella, and tantri).
