“Former Kerala Blasters Co-Coach Ishfaq Ahmed Leaves Club After Super Cup Disappointment”

Kochi: Kerala Blasters’ co-coach Ishfaq Ahmed has left the club following failing to reach the semi-finals of the Super Cup. The club officially announced that the contract with the coach was terminated by mutual consent. Ishfaq, who was also a former player of Kerala Blasters, was working as the team’s co-coach for the last four years. Earlier, when the head coaches left the club, this Kashmiri footballer used to take charge of the team. Ishfaq Ahmed is also a member of the Technical Committee of the All India Football Federation. With Ishfaq leaving the club, Kerala Blasters have started their search for a new co-coach. Ishfaq started his coaching career in 2015 with Kerala Blasters. Ishfaq wore the coach’s shirt and also tied the boots for the team. After retirement in 2017, he joined Jamshedpur as an assistant coach under former Kerala Blasters coach Steve Koppel. 2019 Ishfaq returned to Kerala Blasters as an assistant coach. After that, the co-coach leaves the club.
