The statement added that appropriate disciplinary action has been initiated against Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed under the provisions of the Pakistan Army Act.
According to the statement, “Apart from this, several incidents of violation of the Pakistan Army Act have also come to light after retirement.” However, it has not specified what those violations are.
According to the military statement, “The process of Field General Court Martial has been initiated and Lt. General (R) Faiz Hameed has been taken into military custody.”

Who is General (R) Faiz Hameed?
Faiz Hameed is a retired three-star general of Pakistan Army and former chief of ISI.
He was commissioned in the Baloch Regiment and served as GOC 16th Infantry Division Pinu Aqil.

Lt Gen Faiz Hameed was appointed DGISI in June 2019. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General in April 2019.

Lt Gen Retired Faiz Hameed has also served as Chief of Staff of Ten Corps in Rawalpindi, General Officer Commanding in Pannu Aqil and DG Counter Intelligence (CI) Section in ISI.
He belongs to Chakwal area of Punjab province, he joined Pakistan Military Academy in 1987. He graduated from Command and Staff College Quetta and got commission in Baloch Regiment of Pakistan Army.
His three brothers are Sardar Sikandar Hayat, Sardar Najaf and Sardar Khizr.
His brother Sikandar Hayat lost his life in an accident in 2016 while his brother Sardar Najaf Hameed is a Land Revenue Officer in his hometown.
