Former ISI chief General Faiz Hameed in army custody

ISPR, the public relations department of the Pakistan Army, has said on Monday that a former official of the Pakistan Army, General (retd) Faiz Hameed, has been taken into military custody and disciplinary action has been initiated against him.

The statement added that appropriate disciplinary action has been initiated against Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed under the provisions of the Pakistan Army Act.

According to the statement, “Apart from this, several incidents of violation of the Pakistan Army Act have also come to light after retirement.” However, it has not specified what those violations are.

According to the military statement, “The process of Field General Court Martial has been initiated and Lt. General (R) Faiz Hameed has been taken into military custody.”

The Supreme Court bench, which consisted of Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, Justice Aminuddin and Justice Athar Minullah, on November 8, 2023, while dealing with the petition filed by the owner of ‘Top City Housing Scheme’ Moez Ahmed Khan, said that ‘former DG For redressal of complaints against the ISI and their aides, the relevant forums including the Ministry of Defense should be approached.

The petition filed by Moeez Ahmed Khan, the owner of Naje Housing Scheme, alleged that former ISI chief Lt Gen Retired Faiz Hameed misused his position and acted against him and his family on his orders. Committed crimes.

According to the petitioner, security forces personnel raided the office of Top City and the residence of Moez Khan in connection with an alleged terror case and allegedly looted valuables including gold and diamond ornaments and money.

Who is General (R) Faiz Hameed?

Faiz Hameed is a retired three-star general of Pakistan Army and former chief of ISI.

He was commissioned in the Baloch Regiment and served as GOC 16th Infantry Division Pinu Aqil.

His three brothers are Sardar Sikandar Hayat, Sardar Najaf and Sardar Khizr.

His brother Sikandar Hayat lost his life in an accident in 2016 while his brother Sardar Najaf Hameed is a Land Revenue Officer in his hometown.
