Former IG Prisons Shahid Saleem Baig was questioned about General (Rtd) Faiz Hameed, sources – Pakistan

A large-scale investigation has begun in the Prisons Department of Punjab on the issue of facilitating PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. In this regard, the sources say that after the detention of the former IG Prisons in Lahore, Mirza Shahid Salim Baig, he was questioned about General (R) Faiz Hameed and then released. On the other hand, Mirza Shahid Salim has denied his detention.

Law enforcement agencies detained former IG Jails Shahid Saleem Baig, the former IG Jail founder PTI had retired before going to jail. Shahid Saleem Baig was IG Prisons Punjab for 5 years.

Sources say that Shahid Saleem was detained from the official residence. He was asked questions related to General (R) Faiz Hameed. Shahid Salim was questioned on Thursday night. After which he was released on Friday afternoon.

It should be noted that law enforcement agencies have already taken 2 former officers of Adiala Jail into custody for questioning. Both officers are accused of facilitating PTI founder Imran Khan while on duty. Among them are former Deputy Superintendent Adiala Jail Muhammad Akram and former Assistant Superintendent Jail Bilal.

According to the sources, investigation is also going on with the former Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail, Zafar, while a Superintendent of DIG Jail Rawalpindi Office is also in custody.

According to the sources, Office Superintendent Nazim Shah is also being interrogated, Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Akram K Ardali has also been detained, a warden, head warden of Adiala Jail is also in custody.
