The Klin city court of the Moscow region sentenced the former head of the Klin district of the Moscow region, Alexander Postrigan, to 18 years in prison, the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation reported.
He was found guilty of fraud, creating a criminal community, embezzlement and legalization of other people’s property, writes TASS. Taking into account the previously imposed punishment, the court sentenced Postrigan to 18 years in prison, and also banned him from working for government agencies for five years.
According to the prosecution, Postrigan, heading the Klinsky district, created a criminal community, which included officials, businessmen and his relatives, from August 2003 to June 2018. Over 15 years, the investigation established, the criminal community committed 16 serious crimes and also caused damage worth 72 million rubles.
The court sentenced three of Postrigan’s accomplices from 5.5 to 12.5 years in prison. Previously, the courts sentenced two other defendants in the case, and four more were put on the wanted list.
At the end of 2020, the Klin City Court sentenced Postrigan to 15 years in prison, finding him guilty of receiving a large bribe and abuse of office.
In 2019, the court confiscated Postrigan’s property worth nine billion rubles, including 1.7 thousand real estate properties, including two kindergartens, a children’s clinic, a public bathhouse, a cinema, a market, recreation centers, and land plots.
