Without going in person, former Governor Francisco Javier García Cabeza de Vaca signed up to seek the presidential candidacy of the Broad Front for Mexico, an alliance made up of PAN-PRI-PRD.

On day 4 of the records, the family of the former president attended on his behalf to carry out the process.

For this reason, Cabeza de Vaca’s brother, wife, children and mother were seen in the Senate.

“We are doing the corresponding paperwork, we believe in struggle and democracy,” said legislator Ismael Cabeza de Vaca, brother of the former governor.

Cabeza de Vaca’s record is added to that of other applicants such as Beatriz Paredes, Enrique de la Madrid, Santiago Creel, Xóchitl Gálvez, among other characters.

Why didn’t Cabeza de Vaca personally register his candidacy?

According to reporter Israel Aldave, the PAN member did not personally attend the process for fear of legal action by the federal government.

And it is that in 2021 Cabeza de Vaca was accused of being involved in the organized crime and operations with resources of illicit origin and tax fraudsomething that the ex-governor has denied on several occasions.

However, federal sources confirmed to the program ‘In the Morning’ with Ciro Gómez Leyva that the former president of Tamaulipas left Mexico on September 28, 2022, two days before the end of his term as head of the state government.

“The mere fact that he appears in Mexico City is already going to be a good note because we had not seen him since he left the governorship of Tamaulipas in September, October of last year“, commented the journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva on Wednesday, July 5.
