Former Goaltender Ben Bishop Joins Dallas Stars’ Player Development Team: Find out His Impact on Texas Stars, Junior Hockey, and NCAA Prospects

The Dallas Stars have added former goaltender Ben Bishop to the player development team.

Bishop, 36, was officially hired in early July in a role that was once held by director of player personnel Rich Peverley. His primary mandate will be to work with players from the Texas Stars in the AHL as well as junior hockey and NCAA prospects.

Bishop played three seasons with the Stars from 2017 to 2020 before ending his career with a knee injury in 2020. He went 74-48-11 with a .923 save percentage and 2.33 goals- once morest average during his time in Dallas.

Drafted 85th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2005 draft, Bishop has a career record of 222-128-36 with a .921 save percentage and a 2.32 goals- once morest average in 413 NHL games.

At 6’7″, Bishop was the tallest goaltender in NHL history. He was also named to the Second Team All-Star in 2016 and 2019 and was a three-time Vezina Trophy finalist (2014, 2016, 2019).
