Former Florida Gators Shine in NFL: Offensive and Defensive Highlights

2023-10-09 16:24:08

GAINESVILLE, Fla. –  As iron sharpens iron, so one Gator sharpens another.

This week’s “Gators in the NFL” highlights two games, as former Florida Gators on each sideline tried their hardest to outdo their friends-turned-foes.

Offensive Highlights

Kyle Pitts played his best game of the year this week, leading Atlanta to a win in a close game once morest Houston. Pitts posted seven receptions going for 87 yards, leading Atlanta in both categories. On the other sideline, Dameon Pierce was at it once more, taking the hand-off 20 times and rushing for 66 yards while adding 16 more yards via one reception.

After their outstanding performances, Pitts and Pierce celebrated with a jersey swap, paying tribute to their time in the swamp.

Defensive Highlights

For our defensive gems we head up to Motown, where the Carolina took on the Lions. C.J. Henderson of the Panthers did his best Alex Anzalone impression, posting the first sack of his career, as the 200-pound corner brought down Jared Goff in the third quarter.

For Detroit, Anzalone himself had quite the game, leading the team in total tackles (career high 11), solo tackles, and QB hits, continuing his outstanding season.
