Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Former Egyptian Vice President, Mohamed ElBaradei, on Friday, sent a message to the Arab rulers before the emergency summit expected, Saturday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in which he asked them to reconsider certain agreements due to what is happening in the Gaza Strip, and called on them To “not let their people down,” he said.
ElBaradei previously wrote on his Twitter page on “X”: “To the gentlemen of the Arab rulers… on the occasion of your summit tomorrow… perhaps you will realize that there is a harsh feeling of injustice, oppression and humiliation in every part of the Arab world in light of the systematic extermination of our people in Palestine in blatant violation.” For everything that is humane and legal,” he said.
The former Egyptian Vice President added: “You may realize that, by virtue of your positions, you bear the responsibility of defending the security, interests, present, future, and dignity of your peoples.”
ElBaradei continued: “You may also realize that there are many measures that you can take together at the political, legal, economic and security levels within the framework of (self-defense), including reconsidering existing agreements, similar to what all countries do in similar situations. As much as “The damage done to us is the reaction.”
The former Egyptian Vice President concluded by saying: “We are not powerless in any way, and we should not be… if we want… do not let your people down… the consequences are dire,” he said.
An emergency Arab summit will be held in Riyadh, on Saturday, to discuss stopping the violence in Gaza, with the participation of heads and delegations of Arab countries.
