A former Walt Disney World employee is facing a charge of secretly videotaping a customer’s upskirt, and he has told investigators he has done so more than 500 times in the past six years.
Jorge Diaz Vega, 26, worked at the Star Wars gift shop inside Disney World’s Hollywood Studios in Florida until his recent arrest on a charge of video voyeurism, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
According to court documents filed by Orange County officials, a witness saw Vega filming an upskirt video of an 18-year-old woman, and she later told security agents she was unaware of Vega’s actions.
Detectives said Vega testified voluntarily and told them he made videos as a “guilty pleasure” and showed them several examples on his cell phone.
He was arrested on March 31 and released on $2,500 bond. It is unknown if Vega has an attorney who can comment on his legal situation.
Disney World said Sunday that Vega does not currently work for the company.
Neither police nor Disney would comment on whether they are working to identify the other women Vega allegedly took videos of.
