Former Director of Lebanese Public Security: The reappearance of ISIS is an excuse for the West to remain in the region

Lebanon – The former Director General of Lebanese Public Security, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, confirmed that the return of terrorist organizations to the forefront again indicates the faltering path of political negotiations, and is an excuse for the West to remain in the region.

Major General Ibrahim said, in an interview with Sputnik, that “ISIS is present on the scene, and all countries of the world are using these organizations in an attempt to achieve their interests.” This is a very dangerous phenomenon,” he said, considering that the re-emergence of ISIS in the region is due to two reasons: the first is to form a pretext for the West’s survival, and the second is to organize the withdrawal of the 86 “coalition” countries present on Iraqi soil since 2014.

He saw that the war is continuing at the political level in Syria, and that the “Caesar” law punishes the Syrian people, and does not punish the government, adding: “There may be a significant connection between the events in Gaza and the Damascus file, given that the new image of the region will crystallize after the end of the war and the building of the grand settlement in The region… the conflicting countries may collect some pressure cards in the negotiations, including the Syrian card, which comes at the expense of the pain of the Syrian people.”

He confirmed that he is aware of some of the scenes behind the Syrian-American dialogues. Wishing the United States to open the doors of dialogue with everyone.

He stressed that “force does not solve the problem, and the West must be convinced of this saying, because the forces of ‘revolutionary resistance’ will not retreat by liberating their people,” and today’s dialogue between Washington and Damascus aims exclusively to remove the occupations from Syria.
