Former Colombian Soccer Star Iván René Valenciano Arrested in the US for Drunk Driving and Reckless Driving

A street in Weston, Florida, was the scene of a serious traffic accident in which a famous former Colombian professional soccer player was involved.

Around 12 in the morning on October 30, a Broward County Police patrol arrested the former Colombia national team forward, Iván René Valenciano Pérez.

Iván René Valenciano was arrested in the United States on Monday, October 30.

According to the official report of the case, known by EL TIEMPO, the so-called ‘Bombardero’ faces three charges: first offense for alcohol or drugs, reckless driving and damage to another’s property or a person.

The last crime has to do with the damage caused to a vehicle that was traveling near the former soccer player’s place of residence and that was hit.

The BMW and The Partidazo

Iván René Valenciano was at a soccer celebrity event.

As it was learned, Valenciano was at a soccer celebrity event in Miami, known as El Partidazo. The celebration would have lasted until midnight and the Colombian left late at night on Sunday, October 29, towards his residence.

However, those close to the former soccer player assured EL TIEMPO that Valenciano continued drinking while driving a high-end BMW X3 truck, which he had taken out of the dealership a few months ago.

Indeed, according to sources in the United States, federal police found several bottles of liquor in the vehicle.

That is why he was arrested and taken to a cell in the Pompano Beach jail, where he is being held waiting for the date of the hearing to be set in which the charges for which he was captured will become final.

No residency?

Iván René Valenciano was arrested in the United States on Monday, October 30.

According to those close to the ‘Bomber’, he would not have the right to bail and several sanctions would be imposed, including the restriction of his driving license and the performance of community work.

Valenciano had a work permit and Social Security in the United States, benefits that he might lose due to his arrest.
