Former national cricket team captain Shahid Afridi expressed his desire to coach young cricketers.
Shahid Afridi said that I cannot coach the national cricket team, now I am fully fit and want to perform well in the cricket leagues.
However, Bom Bom Afridi said that he wants to coach U-19 and U-18 cricketers, because this is the age for young cricketers to learn, I will tell them how I coped with difficult situations and not only them. There will be an opportunity to learn, but in this way they can also be motivated.
Shahid Afridi, who was recently included in the Qalandars team in the T-Ten League, said that he will try to perform well while representing the Qalandars team.
Referring to the T-Ten League, Shahid Afridi added that in such a format every ball counts, you have to think fast and act fast.
On a question asked about Misbah-ul-Haq, the chief selector and head coach of the national cricket team, he said that now there is a heavy responsibility on Misbah’s shoulders to show by doing something, Misbah-ul-Haq is less important to bring Pakistan cricket in the right direction. At least 3 years should be given.
Regarding the performance of the national team in the last World Cup, Shahid Afridi said that the team could not play as expected, but there is hope that there will be changes after the arrival of the new coach.
It should be noted that last week Lahore Qalandars have been introduced in the world’s shortest cricket league T10 and in the upcoming season Shahid Afridi is included in the team of Qalandars as the icon player of the team.
The T-Ten tournament is starting from November 14 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, with the opening match to be played on November 15.

**Interview with Shahid Afridi: Aspirations Beyond Playing**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Shahid. It’s great to have you here. You recently expressed a desire to coach young cricketers. Could you tell us more about what motivated this decision?
**Shahid Afridi:** Thank you for having me! Yes, I’ve always had a passion for nurturing young talent. I believe that sharing my experience and knowledge can help the next generation of cricketers develop their skills and reach their potential. Coaching young players feels like a natural transition for me.
**Editor:** You’ve mentioned that you feel fully fit and want to continue performing well in cricket leagues. How do you balance your playing career with your coaching aspirations?
**Shahid Afridi:** It’s definitely a juggling act. I’m focusing on my performance in the leagues right now, but I also have a strong desire to invest in the future of cricket. I see coaching as a long-term commitment, and once I feel I have contributed as a player, I’ll devote more time to coaching.
**Editor:** Do you have a particular age group or level of young cricketers you’d like to coach, or is it more about just getting involved wherever you can?
**Shahid Afridi:** I’m interested in coaching the U-19 level primarily because I believe that this is a crucial stage for young cricketers. This is when they can really shape their careers, and I want to guide them through that process, helping them identify their strengths and work on their weaknesses.
**Editor:** That’s wonderful to hear, Shahid. What values or lessons do you hope to instill in these young players?
**Shahid Afridi:** I want to emphasize the importance of hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude. Cricket is not just a game; it teaches life skills such as teamwork and resilience. I hope to inspire these young players not only to excel in cricket but also to become good individuals.
**Editor:** Thank you for sharing your insights, Shahid. We wish you all the best in your playing career and your future endeavors in coaching!
**Shahid Afridi:** Thank you! I appreciate your support.
