Former Argentine President Alberto Fernández’s assets frozen

The Argentine justice system froze the assets of former Argentine President Alberto Fernández on Wednesday, who is being investigated for his alleged links to a network of corruption in his country.

The crime is believed to be related to the hiring of state insurance during his term in office.

In addition to freezing his assets, the Argentine justice system also lifted Alberto Fernández’s tax and banking secrecy.

The investigation will try to determine whether during his government, The Kirchnerist favored the hiring of his private secretary’s husband for state insurance.

Another 32 people, including former officials, are also being investigated for the plot. All of them were subjected to the same measure as Alberto Fernández.

The alleged irregularities revolve around how in 2021 the government presented a decree in which ordered all public bodies to take out insurance in Nation Insurance.

According to the prosecution, Alberto Fernández’s friends would have benefited from millionaire commissions.

Last February it was learned that federal prosecutor Ramiro González charged the former president and the former head of Nación Seguros, Alberto Paglianofollowing a criminal complaint by lawyer Silvina Martínez who accused them of the crimes of Violation of the duties of a public official and abuse of authority and misappropriation of public funds.
