Forest: an employee of Brussels-Compost is shot at his workplace and is fired the following week

The victim’s days are out of danger. The prosecution ordered various investigative tasks, including the raid on the scene of the laboratory of the technical and scientific police as well as a forensic doctor and a ballistics expert.

“The investigation is ongoing, and in the interests of the investigation, the prosecution will not comment further,” a spokesperson said.

According to information from the daily La Capitale, a helmeted motorcyclist reportedly showed up around 6:55 a.m. at the entrance to the site and asked to see the victim. When she presented herself to him, he reportedly fired several shots, hitting her in the buttocks.

The injured man was also fired last week. The spokesperson for Bruxelles-Propreté, Étienne Cornesse, explains that the decision was taken by Bruxelles-Compost, an independent subsidiary which has its own board of directors, but he assures that the dismissal is absolutely not linked to the fire. He does not see how this incident, which seems to be a private matter, might have targeted the company, which does not welcome the public, does not have valuable assets and has few employees.
