Deaths resulting from road accidents and homicides recorded the highest percentage of deaths dealt with by the South Forensic Medicine Center in Karak during the past year, with (59) deaths out of (208) deaths that were autopsied at the center.
The director of the center / forensic medicine specialist, Dr. Hassan al-Hawari, said that the other deaths that were autopsied, in addition to traffic accidents and murders, varied between cases of drowning, electric shock, falling from a height, burns, suicide and poisoning, in addition to deaths resulting from multiple pathological causes.
Dr. Al-Hawary explained that (44) bodies of people who died in traffic accidents were dissected, and (15) deaths resulted from various murders, in addition to (6) drowning cases, (8) cases of falling from a height, (4) electric shock cases, two burns cases, and two suffocation cases. And one case of poisoning and one case of suicide. As for the number of deaths that were caused by pathological conditions, it reached (125), including the death of a fetus in its mother’s womb.
