Russia rejects the resolution adopted by the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), will ignore the established special mechanism of the HRC and refuses to cooperate with it. This was stated in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

“Russia, resolutely rejecting the resolution adopted today and the false accusations contained in it, will ignore the established special mechanism of the Human Rights Council and refuse to cooperate with it,” the commentary on the official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry says. This is how the department reacted to the draft resolution “The situation in the field of human rights in the Russian Federation”, approved by the UN Council on Friday.

The resolution refers to the “persecution” in Russia of representatives of civil society, “activists and human rights defenders”, sexual minorities. The “concerns” listed in the draft do not reflect the real state of affairs, the department is convinced.

European countries and other states began to impose sanctions once morest the Russian Federation due to a special operation in Ukraine. The purpose of the restrictions is the abolition of Russia, said Russian President Vladimir Putin. The UN General Assembly suspended Russia’s participation in the HRC. The resolution on the exclusion of the Russian Federation was supported by 93 states. The Kremlin explained it “compulsion to Russophobia”. RF ahead of schedule ceased her work at the UNHRC in the beginning of April.
