Foreign Exchange Office 2024 Budget Year Program: Declaration Procedure and Support Policy Explained

This program comes following the entry into force of Finance Law 55-23 for the 2024 budget year, in particular its article 8 having established a discharge contribution for assets and cash held abroad definitively before the January 1, 2023, in violation of exchange regulations and tax legislation in force”, indicates the Foreign Exchange Office in a press release.

Spanning the entire year 2024 and covering all regions of the Kingdom, this program is part of the support policy carried out by the Foreign Exchange Office for its strategic partners, in occurrence the banking sector.

The launch of this program took place on Monday January 8, 2024 at the headquarters of the Professional Group of Banks of Morocco (GPBM) in Casablanca with the participation of local banks, responsible for receiving declarations from the people concerned and ensuring the implementation implementation of the legislative and regulatory provisions of this regularization operation.

This meeting was an opportunity for bank representatives and officials of the Foreign Exchange Office to discuss and discuss the various regulatory requirements relating to this reconciliation system and to answer questions essentially relating to the aspect operational of this operation.

The declaration procedure, the people concerned, the main facilities granted to declarants as well as the exchange and awareness system provided for in this respect were explained to the participants.

Other meetings will follow in the coming weeks. From January, the Foreign Exchange Office will regularly hold, throughout this regularization operation, awareness and support sessions for the benefit of the banking sector (at the central and regional level), as well as in favor of professional groups and associations.
