Forecasters: Sea of ​​Okhotsk cyclone brings heavy rains and wind to Kamchatka: IA “Kam 24”

According to weather forecasters, a cyclone from the Sea of ​​Okhotsk is approaching Kamchatka, which will bring heavy rains and wind, reports IA “Kam 24”.

As Kam 24 news agency was informed in the meteorological forecast department of the Kamchathydrometeorological center, in the south of the peninsula – in Ust-Bolsheretsky and Yelizovsky districts, as well as in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – light rain will begin tonight, which will continue throughout the night and Monday morning. On the night of August 15, precipitation will also begin in Milkovsky, Sobolevsky, Ust-Kamchatsky, Karaginsky, Olyutorsky and Bystrinsky districts.

Moderate rain and gusty southeasterly winds are predicted in the southern part of the peninsula on Monday followingnoon. According to weather forecasters, precipitation will intensify in the evening – sometimes heavy rains are predicted on the coasts, including in Petropavlovsk. Light to heavy rainfall will continue into Tuesday night.

According to preliminary data, in the south the peninsula will clear up only on the followingnoon of August 16. In Karaginsky and Olyutorsky districts, the rains will stop only on the night of August 17th.
