Ford is gearing up to make a splash in the Indonesian automotive market with a reintroduction of the legendary Mustang. The iconic muscle car, specifically the EcoBoost model, was unveiled at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week 2024 and is now available for pre-order.
“We cannot provide complete information about prices and estimates yet. But we can accept pre-orders,” said Toto Suharto, Country Manager of RMA Indonesia.
While Ford is keeping the pricing details under wraps for now, eager fans can secure their spot in line by putting down a pre-order. The official launch is slated for 2025, with the team closely monitoring market conditions.
“We are planning a possible launch in Jakarta next year, maybe early, maybe mid. We are looking at market developments, Ford always presents products that suit the market, the timing is fast,” said Toto.
The Mustang returning to Indonesian roads is a significant development for Ford enthusiasts. The EcoBoost version, boasting a 2,300 cc engine capable of producing 315 horsepower, promises exhilarating performance.

Beyond the return of the Mustang, Ford showed a strong commitment to Indonesia at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week 2024 by launching three new vehicles. This included two limited edition variants, the Next-Gen Ford Everest, and the Next-Gen Ford Ranger Wildtrak. The latest addition to the Ranger family, the Next-Gen Ford Ranger Raptor 3.0, a double cabin designed for off-road adventures, was also unveiled.
Ford’s sales in Indonesia also display positive growth. Data from Gaikindo reveals that between January and October 2024, Ford sold 677 units on a wholesale basis (factory distribution to dealers) and 687 units through retail sales.
“Our sales figures can be seen officially on Gaikindo. We think they have developed quite well. Sales figures are already open,” said Toto.
With the reintroduction of the Mustang and fresh additions to its lineup, Ford is poised to make its mark on the Indonesian automotive landscape.
