Vienna (ots) Wouldn’t it be nice if you didn’t have to take your Ford to the workshop for the next inspection, but instead the service technicians came to you? This is exactly what the “Ford Mobile Service” vehicles enable, a product of Ford ProTM, Ford’s new vehicle service and sales unit. Already established nationwide in Germany with 85 vehicles, the program is now also starting in Austria with 5 vehicles and is aimed exclusively to commercial customers with Ford fleets. The mobile workshop service called “Ford Mobile Service” has recently been offered by 5 Ford service companies. With their service vehicles, the workshop crews can carry out up to 70 percent of the services of a stationary Ford service workshop: from software updates, inspection and maintenance work to wear and tear repairs, regardless of whether it is vehicles with battery-electric, plug-in hybrid or combustion engines.

  • Ford ProTM is launching a program of mobile workshop crews in Austria – the teams are to replace up to 70 percent of the services of a stationary Ford service workshop with their service vehicles
  • Advantage for the customers: short-term service appointments when and where they are needed, so that the downtimes of the vehicles are minimized
  • The first 5 service vans were recently handed over to dealers, more are to follow

“Single Point of Contact” will be available by phone and email by the end of 2023

In addition to the vans, a “single point of contact” will be installed at the end of the year: With this, customers who are traveling across the country with their vehicle no longer have to contact different service workshops for a service appointment. You simply turn to the “single point of contact”, i.e. centrally to the FORDLiive Fleet Care customer center, by phone or mail.

This customer center takes care of the appointment planning in coordination with the customers and also arranges the appropriate Ford service workshop or the use of the service vehicles. The advantages for Ford customers: short-term workshop appointments whenever and wherever they are needed, so that vehicle downtimes are minimized, which is essential for fleet operators.

Thorough training of the new mobile workshop teams

Two service technicians from each participating Ford dealership were thoroughly prepared for their assignments. Topics such as safety, the environment, mobile service processes, customer contact, systems and communication, technology and special tools were discussed.

5 Ford Transit panel vans are currently being used, which the Ford dealers have converted into fully equipped mobile service vehicles according to factory specifications. By the end of 2023 there will be around 12 service vehicles. All workshop teams can access online status data and technical information from the Ford systems that they need for the respective vehicles – provided the customers have activated the on-board FordPass Connect modem and thus expressly given their consent to the data transfer.

Component of the Ford ProTM service program

The mobile service offer “Ford Mobile Service” and the customer contact center “FORDLiive Fleet Care” are components of the overarching Ford ProTM service program, with which Ford wants to optimize its service offer for fleet customers by minimizing unnecessary vehicle downtimes . Ford ProTM Service, in turn, is a key offering from Ford ProTM, the automobile manufacturer’s global vehicle service and sales unit, which offers a wide range of vehicles and practical services from a single source for commercial customers of all sectors and sizes and already has the Delivery of the Ford commercial vehicle to the customers begins.
