The craze for electric vehicles in the United States has begun to decline recently. Ford recently announced a reduction in production of its flagship Pickup electric pickup truck, the F-150 Lightning, which is considered an action to avoid oversupply.

Ford said that the production line responsible for producing the F-150 Lightning at its Michigan plant will be reduced from two shifts to one, which means that half of the manpower will be transferred to other production lines, and regarding 1,400 employees will be affected in the process. Production of the non-electric Bronco series SUVs and Ranger series Pickup pickup trucks will increase.

Although Ford has not clearly stated how much actual production capacity will change, reports indicate that the current F-150 Lightning production capacity is 3,200 units per week. If it is reduced by half, it will be 1,600 units per week. In addition to the F-150 Lightning, they also reduced the production of another electric vehicle, the Mustang Mach-E, in November last year, which shows that the related demand has not been as expected.
