With no access to her bank account due to new restrictions, a 28-year-old woman from Lebanon had to rob her own bank to recover her money to pay for the care of her critically ill sister.
She had walked into the institution with a firearm before threatening the employees.
A few days following the robbery, she is still at large, according to the authorities.
It is not the only one who has attacked the banks.
In total, seven banks were robbed during the month of September, including five during the day of the 16th.
After five days of closures, banks in Lebanon have gradually reopened their doors to customers.
Struggling with an economic crisis for three years, some Lebanese were ready to do anything to recover their money which was dormant in banking institutions.
The discontent among citizens began when institutions imposed draconian restrictions on their customers to prevent large withdrawals and transfers.
