Orlando Bloom helps at the border

The war in Ukraine does not leave many US celebrities indifferent. The actor couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, for example, have already raised tens of millions of dollars in donations. And her colleague Orlando Bloom is also involved. He is staying in Moldova for this purpose.
For some sections of the US population, the war in Ukraine may seem far away. But here too there are many people who are deeply moved by the events – including some celebrities.

Orlando Bloom doesn’t want to sit around doing nothing either. He has been a prominent ambassador for the United Nations Children’s Fund, Unicef for short, since 2009. In this capacity, after the Russian annexation of Crimea, he traveled to Donetsk in eastern Ukraine to campaign for educational issues.

The native Briton is now on the road again on behalf of Unicef. The actor has posted several pictures on his Instagram page in the past few days that show him on the border with Ukraine in Moldova. The 45-year-old wears a Unicef shirt and seeks contact with children and their mothers.
“Every second since the start of the war in Ukraine, a child becomes a refugee,” Bloom said in one of his posts. And he calls for donations: “The children in and outside of Ukraine need all the help they can give.”
In another post he describes one of his recent encounters: “Today at the border I met a mother and her three children who fled Ukraine last night after their neighbor’s house was bombed. They don’t know where to go next will go, but the mother just wants to keep her children safe.”
Bloom became famous, among other things, through his participation in the film series “The Lord of the Rings” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”. He can also be seen in the 2001 war drama “Black Hawk Down”. Bloom is in a private relationship with singer Katy Perry. With her he had a daughter in 2020. He also has a son, born in 2011, from a previous relationship with model Miranda Kerr.
