The EAN Theater Group (Free Improvised Castaways), present the theater show “Hippocampus” on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23/04/2024, at 21:00, at the theater Lines of Art.
Love and memory… Dimitris and Veronika broke up. And together they decided to erase every memory they shared. An astronaut who… stands in the way helps them discover something very deep and long hidden.
The hippocampus of the brain is so named because its shape vaguely resembles the corresponding marine organism. It is responsible for encoding human long-term memory.
The hippocampus is what helps humans “navigate” in space. It is one of the oldest phylogenetic parts of the brain and is part of the limbic system. It controls the center of memory, it carries information no matter how far away. But also nearby. People with extensive brain damage do not retain memories.
We tell a story regarding Dimitris, Veronica, their memories and Hippocampus. A story as old as the world itself.
The performance is based for the most part on improvisation.

“Continuing in the logic we built with the show “House with Red Jasmines”, that is, through improvisation on free themes, we ended up dealing this time with love.
What if, out of so much pain, you decided to erase the other forever from your memory so that you wouldn’t hurt anymore? This is what we dealt with and by collecting pieces from movies, books and our imagination, we created a world “inside the heads of the characters” where the two will experience oblivion by choice, realizing along the way that no one can escape from choices and his life. Our choices will appear before us once more, maybe in a different form, maybe better, maybe worse, and it’s up to us to manage it and live with it, learning from our mistakes.
The world of the show might be a surreal, space world, just like our relationship with the universe, we are as Moby says “all made of stars” and inside our minds there are sure to be black holes but also bright galaxies ».
