For those curious about textile arts techniques

Craftsmen present their works in a place particularly suited to showcasing their creations. It is still possible to meet them or share their knowledge during courses given on site until August 21 at the Gramont house, in Fanjeaux. For six weeks, the doors of the associative workshop are open to exhibitions and courses in sewing, tapestry, lace related to the textile arts. Turned for more than 10 years towards the transmission of renewed ancestral techniques, the association SOA (of Soie d’Or et d’Argent) organized at the beginning of July, for the 10th time, the summer meetings “Around the thread” in the premises and the gardens of the convent of the Holy Family, in the center of the village. Two teachers, Nicolas Jover (embroidery) and Fanchon Viala (needlework), welcomed around twenty trainees, while guiding them with kindness towards a work of excellence where, thanks to attentive listening, the creativity of each can also be expressed.

The Textile Arts Workshop is open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., Maison Gramont, Place des Halles. Information from Françoise Jover, 06 33 37 73 80.
