The governor of Tucumán, Juan Manzur, who was going for a new term, this time as lieutenant governor, announced that he will not run in the elections. It was following the Supreme Court suspended the elections in that province and in San Juan.
“We have taken the decision to decline my candidacy for vice governorship”he reported at a press conference.
“We were never speculating, far from it,” said the governor.
He mentioned that he decided to “be able to move forward with the vote.”
He avoided giving names for the replacement. “Our political space has to make a new decision on the formula,” she announced, noting that there are “top-level men and women” within the party to occupy the place on the list.
He asserted that “it is for the good of the Tucumans and the political space (Peronism)” and said that “he always did everything under the Law.”
