In Vormsi, one student will receive a primer, 135 in Haapsalu and 90 in Lääne-Nigulas.

Six-year-old Maarius Pajussaar wants to become an astronaut, a firefighter or a Jew tuber, he promises to bring roses to the teacher tomorrow, and he knows that at school they learn to write and calculate, and do gymnastics and the Estonian language. On September 1, Maarius will become a 1st grade student at Haapsalu Primary School. The boy can already read. The child does not know exactly what this school is yet, but he eagerly nods when asked if he is proud to be a school boy. Maarius already has a next-door neighbor, kindergarten classmate Uku. The place in the class has been selected and the class teacher has been introduced. “Beautiful,” answered Maarius when asked what his class teacher was like.

Maarius’s favorite lesson is studying, and according to his mother Mairi Pajussaare, the boy is also looking forward to recess: there has never been such a thing in kindergarten. If you ask Maarius to bring out his coolest school things, he returns with a backpack and a pencil case, which contains all kinds of interesting stuff: an eraser, a glue stick and felt-tip pens. Maarius’s sister Maian would also like to go to school, but there is no choice: the girl is only four, we have to come to terms.
